JVC JL-A40 tips and tricks

Brand new member here. I recently acquired a JVC JL-A40. It's in good working order. It came with a plastic ADC headshell with an ADC cartridge with no visible model number. The cartridge has no stylus and the metal housing is loose. Im thinking a replacement is in order. I am looking for any refurbishing tips and tricks and some recommendations for headshells, cartridges, and styli. I have seen some used JVC Z-1S on ebay. Any thoughts? Also looking for a few parts if anyone knows a source. Thanks!

I don't think I've ever bought a vintage direct drive table where I didn't at least have to hit the speed adjustment pot (or pots) with Deoxit.
as for your stylus situation, I woudn't buy a used one from ebay. You can buy a brand new Audio Technica cart for as little as $20, or a pre-mounted cartridge-headshell combo for around 35, which would give you a nice upgrade path, should you choose.
