JVC QL-A2 Cartridge Options

Hi everybody,

I have a JVC QL-A2 and it is in bad need of a new cartridge. The cartridge on it has no writing on it at all. I've been doing research on this table to see if I can find out what weight of cartridge the tonearm can handle. I can't find anything though.

I found the manual for a JVC QL-A7 which can take 14.5-23.5g (including headshell). However, the tonearms look completely different so that's not much help.

Anyways, anyone have any ideas or helpful info?

Does the cart have any symbols on it? If there is a funky "A" on the front, it's an Audio Technica and the only markings will be against the headshell.
 
Nope, It has nothing on it at all. The top half (where it would show a symbol or letter) is black and the bottom half is beige.

I have one of these tables with a lower end AT cart on it. The arm seems very simular to a Technics arm. Maybe a AT 440MLa or Shure 97MxE?

Nice TT, semi auto DD, w/quartz lock

Set the overhang by using guide on deck. Be sure to unplug the table first!
