Just got a used JVC QL-F4 (great looking table). Everything works except the 33 speed (45 is spot on). Anyone have any experience with fixing quartz-locked tables? I do have some DeoxIT D5 here. What should I check for?

Where should I spray the Deox? I've only ever used it a couple times and only on external connectors. This will be the first time I've ever opened up a TT.
Also I noticed some black grease on the spindle when I removed the platter (not much but enough to wipe off with a paper towel). I'm just a bit frustrated with the seller who packaged the TT with the platter still on and the cartridge and counterbalance still attached. Cartridge is bad somehow since it doesn't give a signal to the left channel (I double checked a good cartridge from my other table). He has stopped responding to my emails regarding the 'issues' I've been having with his product. In fact he took offense and pretty much stated that it wasn't his problem (to sum it up) in a very childish way.

As to the deoxit, do you have PITCH controls ? I don;t think the QL4 does so all speed is controled by the quartz lock logic.
Hope not for your sake but check this..if you can get the service manual there may be some adjustment POTS inside the table the have little flat blade screwdriver slots so you can tweak it in and the table does the rest...but if they are way off or oxidized, they can throw it off...
I'll take a peak for you but its one of the reasons I keep stearing away from these even though I like them. If they get speed issues, you need to be an electrical tech to fix..if at all

The funny thing is I just bought a Realistic Lab-400 on ebay and THAT seller really exceeded every aspect of that sale down to the beautiful attention to packing details. Man I wish there were more like him around.

I had sprayed some a few months ago on a receiver and got a drop or two behind the main glass. A couple of spots still remain. Do I need to manually wipe those out with a rag or will they eventually disappear?

I did just that. The speed issue I have sounds relatively easy to fix but its the poor professionalism and attitude that makes me want to do a full refund. I guess claims gives the other guy a week before I get to escalate. I'm certain they'll make me wait that long out of spite. First claim I ever had to do unfortunately. The table looked so slick too. I'm going to ship it back to him the same way it came to me.
Do you know how these claims work? Do items need to be shipped back before the transfer of money or are refunds held in escrow?

Deoxit-ing on these is kind of a pain because the electronic switch is buried inside under a mechanical one.
If that doesn't work, another member solved the 33 problem a different way:

The real question is whether yours is not switching to 33 properly or if something in the adjustments for lock is out... if it's the latter you'll need an oscilloscope to adjust the lock.
