JVC QL-F4 ?

How is the JVC QL-F4? Were they solid turntables? I can grab a really good condition one, with a Ortofon FF15XE cart on it, for $125. How does it compare to my Technics SL-23 with a Pickering XV-15 cart? Would it be an upgrade? I do like that it's a direct drive, compared to my belt drive.

Never owned the table, but if you need a replacement stylus for that cartridge I'd definitely recommend the JICO Ortofon N-15e, detailed and smooth.

JVC's are solid machines. They made the motors for a bunch of other makers. Definitely worth grabbing.

I offered the guy $100, and he accepted. This thing is a tank. Other than some scratches and fading of the cover, it's in excellent condition. Everything seems to be working properly, and it sounds great. I tested it with the headshell from my SL-23, which has the Pickering XV-15 with a 4606-DEX stylus. I don't know the history of the stylus that came on the JVC, so I didn't want to chance ruining my albums.

Yeah, when I lifted up my SL-23 to replace it with the JVC, it felt like half the weight.
