JVC r-S7 any info/opinions on quality/comparables

I my opinion, this was one if JVCs best years. Almost all of my JVC stuff is from this year. I grew up listening to my Dads Nivico JVC 5003 receiver and GB-1E omnidirectional speakers circa 1968. A lot of people dismiss JVC, but when they hear it, they are often surprised at how good it sounds and often say it sounds better than their Pioneers, Yamahas, Kenwoods, Sansuis and so on. I'd say grab that receiver you heard if you liked the sound before it's gone.

I had to reply to your post as we have spoken before, I have an R-S7 and an American spec ( 110v ) R-S77, I also used to have the UK version ( all silver without wooden sides ) but it went wrong and my tech guy tried for 6 months to get a part without luck, I have just purchased another one from a house clearance and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works okay when it gets here. These are really fantastic when they work.
