JVC TD – V711 speed issue

Hello AK,
I recently picked up a JVC TD – V711 cassette deck. Cosmetically it looks like it had a pampered existence however it plays at three or four times the speed it should. I read something about bad capacitors causing this on JVC direct drive decks. Wondering if anyone has had experience with this issue and where to direct my efforts.
