JVC Zero series speakers

Does anyone know about the hierarchy of this range? They seem to be the top-end range of speakers built by JVC, and I have been reading about the Zero 9 on some old threads here where the guy was gobsmacked by the sound quality from these units. Looking up some sold prices they seem to sell for sane prices too, less than, say, Yamaha NS-1000s. It seems that they may be of comparable quality though.

I also have a JVC AX-Z1010TN amp, also superb, and I was thinking they would be a good partnership. I hope to get a JVC/Victor CD player to complete the set.

Any help or advice very gratefully appreciated.

The Zero 10 or 1000 for the European market, was the top dog in this series and good luck finding a pair!
Every once in a while a pair of Zero series will show up on fleabay, but usually the lower numbered ones.
There's a higerearchy listing with pics on line, just google the JVC/Victor Zero speakers.

From what I've read, they are outstanding speakers, highly prized and somewhat to very expensive, depending on condition and model.

If you can grab a pair in this series I wouldn't hesitate as long as I could afford them.

That's a nice amp BTW!

Thanks Glenn. So the higher the number the higher up the range?

I found a pair of Zero 9s on that auction site that sold in Germany for just 233 Euros so this is what I mean by sane money. It would be great to pick up a pair domestically for that sort of price...
 
Thanks again. Interesting that there don't seem to be any Zero 9s listed there or any Japanese equivalents judging from the pics. Maybe they were export only?

I hope the weight is for the pair, it's way heavier than the FX3 I posted!

What's the sound of the Zero line compared to the typical 2.5 way modern floorstanders with 6.5" or 8" woofers? The FX3 is not expensive, I'm intrigued cause their shape and the 11" woofer reminds me the speakers I grew up although I'm hoping these will sound better. For comparison my father had Pioneer HPM xx (I don't remember the exact number). It's interesting JVC was using carbon for the woofers in the 80's, I didn't know that.
