Well I bought another x-100b and it didn’t come with ero-foils. I have a quad of K40y-9 0.047uf 630v. They fit in my 400 receiver and I love the sound. I have more clear shrink wrap for them, I just don’t know if they will fit. Does anyone have photos how you used them in the tight space of the integrated amps. My next choice is orange drops. Thanks

K-40y-9 are a bit LARGE for most Fisher integrateds.
I'd use Illinois Cap "Yellow" axials rather than Orange drops. Even the generic Yellow axial caps that Antique Electronic Supply(tubesandmore.com) has are good. O.D.'s tend to get a bit large at the value and voltages you need in the integrated's.

DISREGARD ANY MENTION OF Changing the value of the Grid return resistors and the Coupling caps to 220kΩ and .068uf. This is for FIXED BIAS Units ONLY! As the X-100-B is Cathode Biased, the Max grid resistance allowed on the 7868 (7591 Family of tubes includes the 7868 and 6GM5) is 1MEGOHM (1,000,000Ω ). As the original values are well below the max value, NO CHANGE needed.

my 800c has some russian military caps and i think they sound lovely too

I agree that I don’t think I’ve ever seen a photo of them in an fisher integrated amp. They do sound great.

I've got them in one of my 800C's. The other has Illinois Yellow Axials. Other than that they have 99.9% identical parts. I can't hear a difference. But it is crowded between the P.I. and the output on the one with K-40's.

I put them in a KX-200. But, like Larry I can't hear a difference.

Well, I thought I was supposed to Hear a difference. I guess I need to just spend more money. At my age some days I hear better than others based on how much salt I ate or if I exercised. Those K40y-9’s sure are packed into your KX200. I think I have some sonicaps somewhere. Thanks you guys as always.

In the feedback loop I really don't think you're going to hear all that much change. At least I've never noticed it. Only spots I've actually noticed different caps is when they were outside the loop.

I put PIO caps in my phono stage (V17 in attached image). Plenty of vertical room in my 500-C.

I have Sonicaps, Gen 2, between output and PI stages.

Here is my X-101-ST with .047 K40Y-9s installed in clear shrink wrap. A bit tight, but not really any bigger than orange drops.

tried the Russian K's in both tube amps n tube preamps...sound was clear but sterile. don't like them. do like the orange drops... do hear more bass with them, too.

That's a debatable topic. Some say it matters; other say not. It's probably another case of "If you've got bionic ears, maybe you can hear a difference", but most people probably don't.

I had orange drops before the ruskies i could live with both. I couldn't tell you if they changed sound at all because i had many other things done at the sametime the russian caps were put in.

I used Sprague, orange drops and Wima in my X202-C, used the .068uf
there smaller than the .1uf's. In the tone and phono sections I use the Orange
Drops and Wima. to me they sounded better than the Yellow Drops I had in
there, I agree with raycarr00.
