KA-6000 help

Just picked up a clean little KA-6000 integrated amp, sadly it does not work as good as it looks.
I hooked up my trusty Minimus-7 testers and an Ipod through the aux jack, fired it up and viola....music.
Then after about 2-3 minutes the left side gets "soft", looses bass and volume.
Pulled the top & bottom and DeOxited everything, tried again but got the same results.
I did notice the right side heat sink got warm, the left did not.
Any suggestions, recommendations and comments would be greatly appreciated.

When it messes up, work the controls till you find the one that causes things to clear up (at least temporarily). That's the control that you need to clean better.

Thanks Echo, but I think it may be a little more serious than that. I sprayed everything down again just in case.
I pulled the jumpers from the pre out/main in. Fed Ipod directly to main in and still got reduced volume/no bass. Fed the pre out to a Yamaha amp and all was good.
Will try and tinker some more tomorrow.....

Reduced volume/ no bass suggests bad electrolytic caps in power amp - If you have scope, you may be able to narrow it down. It may be best for whole sale cap replacement any way. Probably half a dozen caps in signal path - input and output coupling caps, probably an emitter by pass cap, and feed back caps. There is at least one long thread in the Kenwood forum about this amplifier - searching may help. Good luck.

swap the speakers just to make sure that's not it.
