Kanazawa KT-500

I'm wondering if anyone could lend some insight (please keep in mind I know very little about speakers).

I got these from my dad a number of years ago, and my understanding from him (as best as I can remember) is that they were high quality, 60s vintage Altec speakers that a relative had built into a cabinet. I recently opened up the back of the cabinet to try and identify what model of Altec speaker they were (intending to sell them), but immediately found difficulty in that I couldn't find any kind of label or serial number on the individual speakers. Coupled with the tag on the back of the cabinet (Kanazawa KT-500, 60 watt, 8 ohm), I started to wonder if my entire understanding was wrong, and instead of Altec speakers built into a cabinet, these were instead pre-made Japanese speakers.

So a couple questions. One, am I correct in assuming that these aren't Altec speakers inside the cabinet? Two, assuming that's the case, does anyone know anything about Kanazawa KT-500s? Are they any good? Are they worth anything? I can take more pictures if needed. Any insight is appreciated.

They don't look like any Altec drivers i have ever seen.
They scream early 60's asian market.

Questions of value belong in Dollar and Sense forum. They look kabuki and not a popular brand. Maybe $50. My suggestion is honor your dad and keep them and put them to use. We'll be glad to help you find other components to get them running.

A) No those are not Altec
B) @pauldrewry makes a good point about honoring your dad, trying to cash in doesn't sound right

As for Kanazawa there was a thread several months ago where it was deemed that they used Coral drivers, which folks seem to respect and like. I can't tell if the drivers in yours are Corals or not.

Have you listened to them yet? if so how do they sound to your ears?
