Kappa 6.1 custom center questions

Hello all!
I keep going through different centers for my system and I'm just not happy with any center. I run Kappa 8.1's in the front Kappa 7.1s in the rear. I have used kappa video in the front, cc3, interlude, a prelude center and even dual kappa video. I guess the next step is to use my 6.1's to make a custom center. I know I've seen a few custom centers in here, I just don't see a build for them. I'm thinking about just rearranging the speaker configuration and adding another Emit and Polydome? If I were to add another Polydome and an Emit how would I deal with the crossover configuration? Use two and wire in series/parallel?

You didn't mention your skill level with electronics, but based on your questions, I'm going to go with the assumption that you don't much experience with speaker design, more specifically crossover design.

What's the rest of your system like? What kind of screen, what height is it at, what are the dimensions of the front wall? What didn't you like about the Kappa Video (remember, that speaker was designed specifically to work with the Kappa x.1 series)?

Yes my knowledge is very limited when it comes to the internal workings of crossovers, amplifiers, etc.
I run a Denon 4400 to center and 7.1 surrounds, and a Denon 200w per channel amp to the 8.1s.
65 in screen centered on a 12 ft wall and bottom of screen is just above eye level when sitting on a recliner (about 3.5-4' off ground) Center is directly below it and right at ear level.
My problem with all of them is dialogue and fullness. The interlude sounds pretty darn good but you can tell it's not matching the Emits.
I've played with all the settings in the Denon, used the DSP software and everything, tweaked it manually, set them small and large, etc etc.
I'm about to add some front height speakers if that makes any difference. (Old P-QPS)

I'm not surprised that the Interlude didn't match, but what about the kappa video?

Seems as if you've got the space to stand a single Kappa 6.1 directly under the screen. There's nothing that says that center speakers need to be horizontal or that they need to have a woofer-tweeter-woofer array.

I didn't see any mention of a subwoofer in the system. Are you running one or relying on the bass output of the 8.1s and 7.1s?

Kappa video is muddy. I have 3 of them, all same

I think @swechler idea of just placing a Kappa 6.1 up front and seeing how it sounds is a good start. Dialogue and fullness are mainly being handled by the 2 img mid/bass drivers. I've personally never been a big fan of them as mid drivers, especially after living with polydomes for some time. I recently had a pair of Kappa 7.1s and CS 3009s out in the shop and did a little side-by-side listening and the Kappa 7.1s were hands down so much better in the uper bass/midrange than the much larger 3009s, at least in my opinion.
 
using kappa 6.1 is what I used to do, and what both my brother in law and brother with their 7.1 and 9 use as a center channel.
I agree with you on the sound of the kappa videos, they never impressed me.
