KD-2055 Switch Suppresor

I just replaced mine. All versions have 12R+10n, except US which has 100n, and Canadian which has 47n.

Well, these values/ time-constants would seem not to be too critical. I removed the 12R resistor and fitted a 47R+47n Rifa integrated C-R unit - for which there is a hole in exactly the right place on the board. Works perfectly. No more crackles on start/stop.

Now, these Rifa suppressors have a bad name, as we know. But the fact is that they are designed to fail safely, and commonly do so only after 30-40 years. (Doubt I'll be here in another 40 years!)

Mine had not failed; I'd removed it simply because it looked a little crazed - and it became obvious that it's not something you can do without.
