Keep JBL Decade L26 or part out for L36?

Mystery

constantly upgrading...
As many of you know, I got JBL L36 few months back that had woofers replaced with car subwoofers.

Today, I picked up a pair of L26.
The cabinet is dry, missing a small chunk in one speaker's top back and discolored so it needs some sanding, oil and stain.
All drivers and tweeters work fine.
Interestingly, these are same size of L36 but felt lighter.
Looks like PO used external fuse holder screwed near the terminals. :scratch2:

So I'm wondering whether I should re-foam and keep L26 as it is or part it out for the woofers to use in L36. L36 will need quite a bit work to make them look good as I need to remove the black paint, plastic grills, order grill pegs etc... while the L26 need just some TLC on dry and discolored cabinet.
Thanks for suggestions.
Are L36 worth the trouble over L26?

I would keep and restore both pairs, then sell the pair you like less, which probably will be the L26s. (But I've had both and like them both, so it's hard for me to say which is best.)

I would not part out either pair. They're too nice to discard and yours are in pretty good shape.

Just MO.

True; I hadn't noticed the L36s still have their mids and tweeters. What cretin put those covers over them?

Fixing the L36 baffles and L26 backs would be easy. Duplicolor Trim Paint looks very OEM.

Interesting thread for me as I picked up a pair of L36 with Walmart car woofers as well. I also have a pair of L26 that I refoamed.

They both sound excellent, i think I like the L26 a little better but would be happy keeping either if I sold one.

The 125a will come on the bay if you are patient. It is a shame to toss these old gems as they are getting more rare all the time.
