KEF 103.2 Crossover Modification Help Needed

I have a pair of pristine KEF 103.2 speakers. Well, they used to be pristine until I over drove one of them. On one speaker the protection light came on and the woofer stopped working. The other one works fine. I waited several months to try fixing it. Now with music playing to the bad speaker, the woofer didn't work but the protection circuit light was off. I pulled the woofer and applied a low volume signal to it and I DO GET SOUND. After some research online it looks like my best option is to eliminate the protection circuit from the crossover. Can someone please give me specific instructions on doing that? I’m pretty good with a soldering iron. Thanks.
