Kef 103.2 recommended for Marantz 2230?

Hello... I have recently purchased a recapped Marantz 2230 and it sounds good and clear through my ScanDyna A25x (4 ohm 88dB circa 1970 speakers very similar to Dynaco A25x). However, there's not an awful lot of power or bass, even though the volume is sufficient for our needs. I have lusted over a pair of Kef 103.2 for ages, and they are affordable, but I am worried about their 86dB sensitivity and higher recommended amp requirement of minimum 50 watts. What do you guys reckon? If not, what would be your vintage, or vintage looking (real wood veneer) small to mid sized monitor choice for the 2230?
