Beautiful pair of the Fantastic Kef 103/3 Reference Series speakers, complete with heavy-duty stands made specifically for this model. Both speakers are in excellent shape and are guaranteed to work perfectly. Grills are in beautiful shape. Solid-Wood cabinets (not wood laminate) are also very nice - see pictures. These are world class small speakers with huge soundstage, and rich, detailed sound. These are one of the highly desirable sets that were made by Kef in England, not the crap produced later in China. These are vintage 1986 and are in perfect working order - I have them in a second system currently and they are great. Matching serial numbers - 002524A/002524B. Additional pictures available upon request. INCLUDES KEF KUBE specifically designed for the 103/3's.

Grab them now at a very nice price of $350 - they won't last long.

This guy has had these up for a while and for $350 they seem reasonable... especially since they have the Kube (which they require to sound their best). Not sure why no one in Chi-town has jumped on them yet.

I paid close to $400 for my 103.2's and I'd say these are probably close to as good with a little better bass response. Maybe not as detailed in the low-midrange as the 103.2's... the bextrene B200 in the .2 is tight and responsive! Polypro drivers were just coming into vogue, so maybe not as dialed in. The B200's are unreal when it comes to voices, that's what makes the .2's so special! But they are a wee boxy and the 103/3 is probably a little more open.

I seem to recall reading that many preferred the 103.2, when I was researching the 103.2 that I bought. But maybe I was just filtering out negative comments because I wanted them.
 
I only know the 103.2 which I paid $350 (incl stands) for a used pair. Best speaker I have owned, even though they are from the early eighties. The 103.3s are from the late eighties and KEF quality was still top notch. Definately worth auditioning but be prepared to fork out $350.

Those (the Edgewater ones) are really close to me. That $225 is about what I have in my 103.2's, including a recap.... If somebody really wanted the 103/3's, the Glenview ones would probably be the way to go due to the stands and the Kube. We'll see if someone here gets them.

The specs are quite different: the 103.3 is more efficient at 92db vs the 103.2 86db sensitivity rating; and they are significantly heavier ...likely due to their 3-way design.
 
The whole 102, 103/3, 104.2, 107 series was 4 Ohms. The thinking was someoine looking at that quality speaker would have a decent amp and 4 Ohms would allow it to put out more power.

They worked hard on xover to keep it purely resistive and never much blow 4 Ohm so they are actually easier on amps than a lot of "8" Ohm speakers that may dip much lower and have other nasty reactive elements.

And as always, avoid any 102, 103.3 or 107 that does not come with the proper Kube. You are getting an incomplete article that will not function properly. They will play but they were designed around their respective Kubes and do not work correctly without them.
