I've read mixed reviews of the KEF KUBE for their 104/2 speakers and would like to hear for myself, but stumbling across a functioning KUBE at a reasonable price is tough. Without knowing exactly how the KUBE was designed, it's also reasonable to think that software EQ could do a similar or perhaps better job at reproducing the effective transfer function without aging electronics or components.
There are examples of the 107/2 KUBE that I used to make a best-guess EQ, and found that bass sounded fuller (as one would expect with a low-freq shelf EQ) but know that KEF was both boosting the low end and also taming some other aspects of the speakers, so would like to hear what they intended.
Has anyone attempted to measure the KEF 104/2 KUBE filter response or transfer function and ported this to a parametric or other software-based EQ?
