KEF 105/2 Pricing

I am considering purchasing a pair. What price ranges do KEF 105/2's fall into (non-eprey pricing please)?

Unfortunately there aren't enough for sale. The ones I am considering are in good working condition, do not have the typical woofer issues, but have not been recapped.

The only pair I saw locally was listed for $120 and they went before I could blink my eyes.
May be around $500.
 
I had an opp to buy a pair locally for $400, and I thought that was a good buy. I think $500 is reasonable.
 
$500 is the low end for a nice pair, people around here ask up to $1000 but I suspect they sell for around $600-$700. If well recapped that is a nice value adding bonus.
 
Thanks all for the much appreciated input. Picking them up tomorrow from another great AK'er! This will be my first legitimate pair of KEF's, check another speaker off the bucket list of speakers!

Those are so cool! I would love love to own a pair of older KEF reference someday...if there are any left. Great find and I hope you enjoy them.

Reickmay, you can find some! I had never heard of "Kef Reference Series" until I stumbled upon some 103.2's at the local pawn shop. Just a few months later, I found myself driving 10-11 hours (one way) from NC to upstate NJ to buy some 107's! :thmbsp:

They're out there...

The midrange on these things is off the charts good. Time to start contemplating the recap game plan...
 
These are rapidly rising to the top. We will see how that stands as the newness wears off. I will also order the alcaps as you guys recommend.
