My brother has had these speakers since new. He reported issues with them - that turned out to be related to his amp - giving me an excuse to dig into them.
To my surprise I couldn't find ANY technical / repair / reference info about them online.
HiFi Engine does have the promotional brochures for the KEF Coda 70/80/90 line - from 2001 - which I'll copy:

So I put one on the bench for surgery and to see if I could map out the crossover:

The front baffle has no exposed screw heads - so the drivers must mount from the back.

The terminal plate is metal, with dual binding posts for bi-amping/bi-wiring, that do not accept banana plugs (but might if I remove the inserts - will attempt this later). (They do have jumper plates, but I had removed them in the pic.)

The crossover is mounted to the back of the terminal plate.

After inspection, here's my hand-mapping of the crossover network, identifying components on the PCB and noting resistance & capacitance values. The inductors - two air core and two iron core - are not labeled so I have no idea their values.


And finally, I was hoping to be able to remove the nut on the back of the cabinet to free up the front baffle for removal to inspect the drivers, but no such luck. It must be glued in addition to being secured my a rod to the nut on the back (and in fact the nut, when bottomed out all the way tight, is still loose meaning there's no tension on the rod at all, the baffle is held in place 100% by glue). To break the glue, I'd need to hulk smash ... since they are my brother's speakers I couldn't hulk smash, so this is as far as I went.


(Those pieces of wood chips are actually glued down the baffle - they must not have bothered to clean the wood chips away before gluing the baffle during assembly.)
So that's it. Now there's something about the Coda 70's on the Internet.
Edit: This page has some info on the drivers for the larger Coda 90 ... the Coda 70 uses the same tweeter and 5" woofer so:
Tweeter is apparently SP1491
Woofer is apparently B130 SP1489
If anyone knows the value of those inductors, I'd love to know! Then we could actually map the crossover frequency / slope.
(If anyone has done the same thing and identifies an error with my networks - please post to correct me!)
As a final note - they sound great for what they are, good bass for the size, highs you'd expect from metal dome tweeters. Granted my listening test was conducted in a home gym and not any kind of treated critical listening space ...
