KEF REFERENCE 102 WITH KUBE

Hi all,
Any idea as to the value of a pair of KEF Reference 102s with the KUBE?
This pair is rosewood veneer, very good condition, grilles perfect, and with the tweeters recently disassembled and cleaned/ ferrofluid replaced.

I’ve owned a Teak pair with the Kube for years. I’d never sell them. 30+ years old and expensive when new.
Yours have value because of the Kube. Most 102s have been separated from their Kube.
They also have value if they have the correct KEF T-33 tweeters. Any others make them a non-starter.
If you’re on the buy side of these and they are real nice $400 is not unrealistic. The tweeters bring $75 each easily.
and the Kube $125 any day.
Remember they are 4 ohm speakers.

Thanks. They do have the correct tweeters, as they did new.
Maybe I should give them another listen - they seem to be a well- appreciated model.

Set them up on stands, feed them with some quality electronics and be prepared to be amazed. Vocals are scary good.
Hours of reading on the net about small BBC monitors.

Even counting only my KEF Reference speakers, I have too many.Reference Model 1s, 101s, 102s, 103s,104s, as well as Calindas. Time to let a few go, I think. Obviously, I'm a big fan of KEF, but to my ears, the models that don't require KUBEs are better.

I agree. I've had quite a few pairs of Kefs! My favourites would be the 105, 104/2, Concerto, and 103.2 in that order.

I've had a pair of 103.2s as well, and while I really liked them, particularly the midrange and treble detail, they're the only KEFs I've had had that sounded a bit plastic-y. That was before I had acquired any real high quality amplification, though, and that may have been the root of the problem.
I gather the components used for the 104.2 KUBE were of higher quality than those used in the other models. All of the Reference models I've heard are excellent speakers, but I hear a slight graininess imparted by the KUBE on the 102 and the 103.3.
