Been doing research, can't find a definitive answer, but I think the answer is no, it does not use ferrofluid.
I pulled the tweeeter, removed the dome, "cleaned" the voicecoil gap looking for ferrofluid and saw no gunk or discoloration.
It also appears that the former on the voicecoil is paper which I'm guessing is another clue that there was no ferrofluid.
