Kenwood 8010 no FM output

Hey guys. Any info on why I have no FM output to my speakers?? I can tune AM channels fine and get sound but when switching to FM my tuning meter will center up at a known good strong station but I have absolutely no sound from either channel. All other functions work. Aux, phono, tape etc..... I had to restring the dial string because the person I got this unit from had it shipped to him and it was damaged. The tuning knob was snapped off at the shaft which I made a new shaft and all is good there AM good. FM bad. Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance

When the tuning meter centers, what is the signal strength meter indication? Does the "Stereo" beacon turn on?

No stereo light. Maybe a bulb. Tuning meter bounces both ways when tuning and when you pick up a good channel the signal meter doesn’t do anything. I did notice when I tune in a good AM station the signal meter goes all the way left ( low strength) I think this unit was dropped or kicked in transit so I’m not sure what happened.

With no signal strength meter deflrction and no "Stereo" beacon light, it may be that the tuner is not capturing FM at all.
