Kenwood components-C2 score

Surfing the local CL I managed to score a Kenwood Basic C2 pre-amp. (Sorry camera is broken at the moment). I paid $80 for the C2 which was what I wanted but it also came with KT-880 tuner and GE-75 Graphic Equalizer with a reverb amp. All pieces are in mint + condition with not a single mark anywhere and all dial markings white and bright!

According to the people over at FMTuner the KT-880 is not anything to write home about but the GE-75 has a very interesting display. I can't seem to find any info on it but it does not look like it was part of Kenwood rack system.

Anyone have any info on it?

I remember wanting those components back in the 80's. I had a full stack of Kenwood components once upon a time, I liked that system a lot. Enjoy your new find, a steal IMO. :) I think your next CL purchase should be a camera :D as this post is:

:worthless

Always wanted to add that... :D

I know..my daughter took her camera to school and as soon as I get one of our older ones up and running I will post pics.

You really got some great stuff. I've been running a KT-880D through a Basic C2 for years--no complaints whatsoever. In fact, I A/B tested the KT-880D against a Yamaha TX-1000 (for sound quality). Maybe my ears were burned out that day, but the Kenwood certainly did not lose that matchup. I can't say that it won either, but it put itself in heady company. And that C2 preamp--nothin' but fine.

Oh, if your tuner doesn't have the "D" suffix after KT-880, forget what I said...

Yeah it is just the base KT-880 but I was really only spending the $ on the C-2 anyway.....

For AM/FM listening in that set-up I am primarily using a Sansui 7900Z.

The GE-75 actually provides a pretty good light show......

The C2 is a fine piece of kit, and I am fortunate to have one as well. Kenwood did make some nice EQ. I have one packed away in the attic, but dunno the model number. Big beast though.

Pic

kept trying to get a photo of the GE-75 lit up but it keeps coming out blurry so you will have to settle for this pic...

Pics of the "stoner" equalizer.......

Okay not the best image quality but I think you get some idea of the "light show" the Kenwood GE-75 provides.
