Kenwood KA-4004 relay clicks on/off???

Hi Gang,

I picked up another project, Kenwood kA-4004. I brought up the voltage nicely on the Variac and it was steady. Then after a few minutes the Relay starts clicking on/off. So, another boat anchor.

I will put it in the pile.

OK, UPDATE:

I did some basic cleaning of the controls and it is slowly coming back to life.

I'd still be worried about that relay cutting in and out though. How's the DC?

I have not opened it up yet just basic test to see what I bought.

UPDATE: the right ch is 13.0 but the Left channel has a problem. It went from 50. to 250. after the relay started acting up again.

I loose a channel when I wiggle the Tone defeat? If I clean all the pots and switches will the dc level off?

my friend had the same problem, with the relay clicking on and off on a thule ia150b.
it turned out the caps had dried out.
