Kenwood KA-6000, any good?

Just screwing around on e-bay, I won a Kenwood KA-6000 for $17.28 excellant condition, everything works except the speaker A-B switch. Don't really need it as I have a KA-6006, KA-7100, and a Sansui AU-G77X. Anyone have an opinion on the 6000?? Thanks.

Congratulations on your great score!

The Kenwood KA-6000 was a very early effort by Kenwood to build a very high quality stereo integrated amplifier. The heft, stamped front panel and gorgeous machined knobs are testament to what Kenwood was trying to do. Note that the speaker switch puts the speakers in series when in the A + B position. This means that unless both A + B speakers are connected, you will get no sound. There are a few simple modifications that will improve its performance. Using the search function here on AudioKarma, you will find some helpful suggested modifications.
