Kenwood KA 6100

Bigears

Manager of my own day
Got lucky and found a very nice Kenwood KA 6100 for a decent price. This joins my KA 7100 and KA 7002 in my integrated lineup.

The amp required extensive DeoxIt on the toggles before I got output on both sides, but now it's working pretty good. I checked the DC offset and measured 3.1/25. mV. and I'd like to bring the 25 mv down to something in the single digits if possible.

I found a pair for VR's on the amp board but I'm hesitant to make any adjustments unless I'm postitive what they control. Does anyone have the DC offset procedure for the KA 6100?

Thanks.

Getting your hands on a service manual is highly recommended before tinkering with internal adjustments.

Those Kenwood integrateds were such great amps, sweet as they come.
I'm sure there were some, but I can't think of a Kenwood with a DC offset adjustment built in. At any rate, I don't think I would panic over 25mV.

I agree, this one sounds sweet and I'm not going to worry about it. Thanks for the input. They are great amps and very underrated.
