Kenwood KA 7300

I just refoamed my Infinity RS3B speakers and hooked them up to a Kenwood KA 7300 amp. Treble seems to be way too pronounced.

The KA is old and needs a good cleaning. A lot of the knobs and switches are scratchy when activated. The right side is intermittent and sometimes the left side is weak
.
The thing that concerns me the most is the extremely prominent treble even when I turn the knob fully counter clockwise.

Any ideas or suggestions? Is it the speakers or the amp? I have had the speakers since 1987 and do not remember the tweeters being so sharp that they hurt my ears. I just acquired the amp.

Sounds like the pots and switches need a thorough cleaning. DeOxit D5 for the switches, DeOxit Faderlube for the pots.
 
Just cleaned mine with D100 to get rid of the scratchies... now need Faderlube or some similar products?

Cleaned and lubed. It helped the scratchy sound but not the painfully pronounced treble.
I opened speaker cabinets and reversed the polarity on the lower set of woofers. Seems the Infinity RS3B is supposed to have woofers out of phase in the same cabinet.
The setup sounds awesome. I am reliving the my mispent youth.
