Kenwood KA 770 worth a shot?

Hi guys, being a hi fi hamster, I couldn't pass Kenwood ka 770 ( dld ) this morning. It is sold as non working unit but what the hell, another project for the future. It looks mint and silver so I couldn't resist especially since it is considered to be rare speciment.

I bought it upon good reviews and trusted tech opinions but never had or heard Kenwood. This one is rare model so I couldn't find mich except some basic specs.

My flavour is vintage Sansui from early 70's ( au 9500 and 2000x ), a different breed indeed...

Two things if anybody can share personal experience: sound signature and impressions and is there any unobtanium part in this model I should be concerned with.

Too late now, Kenny is on the road still while I wait let's talk about it.

Many thanks in advance.

It appears to be a fairly decent (specifications) unit. If the output voltage and current amplifier modules are intact, you might have a chance of making it work reasonably well. If the output modules have failed, options are limited.

Watthour, I appreciate your input, output modules are my main fear, everything else so so, nothing to complicated. I think I am going to cancel since I still have time, already have a lot of eqipment and I don't honestly belive it can remotely outperform sui 9500. Still, since this topic is open I hope some other members migh benefit from this info.

Cheers.
