In the meanwhile...I got a KA791 some years back from a neighbor who was cleaning out his basement. I was very pleasantly surprised by its performance. So much so that I used it as the amp for a system that I put together for my brother, who wanted to be able to play his old albums. Unlike some newer units, it has a built-in phono amp, so you can connect a turntable to it directly.
I don't know how well it would do with lower impedance speakers; I gave him some Boston A70s, which I believe are 8 ohm. It would probably be ok with 6 and even 4 ohms, but couldn't find a manual to verify. Two things I would note:
That unit looks pretty beat up. While not always true, this can often be an indication of how the owner treated it.
It originally came with a remote. However, I seem to remember that you can access all of its functions manually (that is, without the remote).
