Ok my dudes, last week I picked up a very derelict Supreme 600 which, fortunately, has a good face and a good 6 gang pot. What strikes me initially (without getting under the hood) about this unit compared to my 7300 and 801 (for instance) is the seeming quality of the switch levers. They seem to use levers milled from solid billet rather than bog standard levers with lever covers and shrouds. This afternoon I found a KA-8006 which seems to have the same levers (and knob design, in fact) as the 500 and 600. Which is to say, and clear step up from the livery of the 7300/9100 and 701/801. What gives? Was the KA-8006 considered a “premium” offering similar to the 500/600? Frankly, the inside of the 8006 looks more premium than the other models as well. Or maybe I’m just a sucker for a transformer shroud. I’m getting the matching tuner as well, and it’s also seems to be built to this higher standard. In fact, the inside is even more impressive - its’s all shrouded up like an ultra premium unit. What gives?
