The KT-8300 is the best of those but older and has different knob and switch styling, if you can live with that?

The KT-x300 series match the KA-x300 series visually. The tuner that match the KA-8100 is the KT-7500.
Not big deal but read KENWOOD's own brochure

8300 = "ideally suited to match KA-8100 or KA-9100"
7500 = "outstanding partner for KA-7100, KA-8100 or KA-9100"
Yes tiny tiny better trim match with 7500 I agree but 8300 authorized pair up from Kenwood plus 8300 much better tuner!

Oh, no question that the KT 8300 is a bigger dog that the KT 7500. I was just talking about how the KT 7500 matches up better visually with the KA 8100. They didn't come up with a higher spec tuner than the 7500 that matched with the KAx100 series in terms of looks as the KT 8300 remained on top of their tuner heap even when the x100 amps and the x500 tuners came along.

Uhhh, the KT-7500 you meant right?. The KT-6500 is very similar too except for black plastic switch deco.
I have all 3 of those, KA-8100, KT-6500 and 7500 and they all make a great combo!.
The Kt-7500 is sweet, just paired one with a KA-4006.
