Kenwood KD 40R dd turntable motor issue

Hi,

Got a Kenwood KD 40R direct drive turntable with motor issues, it does not turn correctly.
I have taken it apart and it seems o.k. and running freely.
The thing is, it turns kinda odd. It rotates one third, stops, and rotates one third, stops, and so on.
The strobe is off too.

A direct drive motor is not meant to function with the platter off and what you are showing is not unusual at all. Does it do the same with the platter in place? I expect not. The mass of the platter is necessary.
 
On page 3 in the service manual there is a description on the motor driving circuit.
But it's above my knowledge to understand where it goes wrong, I have the feeling though that it could tell where to look for
bad components.
Maybe Q01 - Q03, because it forms the 3 phase switching circuit and it seems to rotate in 3 steps?

You right, I tried it with the platter and it functions again. I started this because yesterday it did rotate normal without the platter for a while.
