I have a damaged tonearm with missing antiskate parts. The question is should I just replace the whole assembly or look for a tech? I am tech savvy but in a different field and the search for parts can be difficult. Otherwise it's in great shape. BK Pro 10, Crown DC-300A Series II, Emilar speakers w/the Emilar

I have no experience with the KD550 OEM arm but I’m sure it is a nice arm. How is the arm damaged or is it just missing parts? Before buying a new arm I might consider placing a WTB ad in the Barter Town forum for the parts you need. There are helpful BT members that may have a donor arm and / or spare parts. I've gotten help there multiple times for parts I needed for various projects. Pictures will be helpful.

I have a KD500 which is the same table. I put a Jelco TS-550S MKII 9” tonearm on it and have been very pleased. Jelco closed business last year but there are still preowned arms available. The Jelco 750D was also widely sold and a popular choice. Many happy KD500/550 owners use SME, Grace, Fidelity Research, Infinity, Formula 4, Magenpan, etc. arms as well.

Very useful information. Thank you. I think part of my problem is my lack of knowledge about this unit. I have searched and failed finding enough info that would help. The Barter Town forum looks like my next step. I had thought a Jelco was the stock 550 arm. I will post pics.
