Hi Folks, I'm working on a Kenwood KR-5150 receiver with what I think is a bad bridge rectifier. Its not one I've seen before, a 5B1 IK (with a Diode symbol on it). Anyone know what a suitable replacement is for this bridge rectifier? Thanks.

Good luck with your KR-5150. I don't know how to help you fix it, but I'm happy to hear of another one out there. I love mine.

I've not been able to find a replacement for the one in my KR-6160, but it is easy to remove the existing one, drill one hole through the space you've opened up, then bolt one of the BRxx series bridges in that spot. The one I'm using is a little overkill but it's only $1

its a full wave bridge and while I have not yet found the specs on it, you can get them from like 2 amps up from mouser or digikey. round or square will fit better than a blade style.

btw - if you are in the service manual, it has some specific instructions for the protection circuit...
