Kenwood KR-5600 Recap Project - Where's Waldo?

Thank goodness for this forum! I'm getting together a parts list for a KR-5600, even bought the manual, which holds info for the KR-4600 too. As I check through the cap list for the audio board (X09-1140-10) I can't find Cm 39 or Cm 40 in the schematic. I've checked the alternate s/m (4600) for them too, but it's like, WHERE'S WALDO?! Can anyone help me solve this little mystery? Thank you in advance! I'll be posting more about this project. I have two of these to do, maybe I'll even create a BOM list (with help) for the library, so stay tuned.

Discrepancies are fairly commonplace and the service manual should only be given as much credence as it deserves. Did you perform a visual check of the unit itself? There is where you create a BOM from.

Thanks, hopjohn, I am currently working on that, just wondered if someone already encountered the problem. I might be a bit anal with details, but maybe in this work that's not a bad thing? Like, I'm still trying to figure out the oxymoron of "non-polar electrolytic" !

If the caps appear on the boards, but not in the schematic then they are likely just additions / improvements made during the 5600's production run.

I hear ya. I'm still trying to figure out why hemorrhoids aren't called asteroids.

That's funny hopjohn! Well, I did find the elusive caps Cm39 and Cm40, tied together over by Dm7, a Zener on the -B rail. Cm39 straddles the diode. Then I found Ck14, a 100uf 25v 'lytic straddling the zener Dk5 in the power supply - and wouldn't ya know it is NOT on the parts list, just as foretold. Once again, thanks for the advice, Gentlemen! If I ever get the recap list together it will be worth posting here. Next I need to learn how to do a cut + paste BOM for Mouser. Any easy format for that?
