Kenwood KR-6600 wooden case conversion to plastic or metal?

I picked up a free KR6600 (sounds GREAT after Deoxit) but the wood cabinet was in pretty rough shape. Is it pretty easy to convert the case from wood to metal/black plastic? I'd rather not try my hand at restoring the cabinet unless it's a last resort, as some of the veneer is chipped off and the wood venting is cracked. TIA!

Is the wood cabinet supposed to have feet? I've been looking at images online but can't find anything with a clear view of the bottom. It just has two strips of wood...

Easy to remove the venting and put in some perforated plate.
Metal shouldn't be hard to bend a chunk of sheet and put 4 bolt holes in it.

honestly if someone had a picture or measurements, it wouldn't be hard for me to design something more accurate and get cut out by a service. alas, i haven't been able to get any clear pictures of the sides with the panels removed

The parts lists shows top and side pieces as separate pieces. So for metal cabinet, you will need to take the wood one off, and carefully measure screw holes, then figure out what you want it too look like. The 6600 and the 7600 list the same part number for the top and side panels, so that may help.
If it were me, I'd look for someone to do another wood cabinet.
You may want to look around and see if some one has converted to wood cases, and has metal plates available. My 2 cents.
