I just found a kenwood KR-7200 and I love the sound it produces. I was just curious if anyone knew the original retail cost of it when it came out in the 70's? I've searched online and havn't been able to find anything. If anyone has any info let me know! Thanks!

Search for product literature like sales brochure and ads. They can be find in a number of locations including epay.

The 7200 was the top of its line.

I searched there too and for some reason I couldn't find any pricing. I've seen a post where someone said $499.00 but I don't know if thats accurate.

The Kenwood KR-7200 had an advertised price of $499.95 USD in march 1973.
Adjusted for U.S. inflation using the BLS Consumer Price Index (CPI-U), that is equivalent to about $3,772 in August 2026 dollars meaning roughly the same general purchasing power, not the receiver’s present-day market value.
