Kenwood KR-9050 dial pointer adjustment

Pleased with my new KR-9050 and want to get the dial pointer to be exactly on an FM station we have playing 18 hours a day in our home…can you guys direct me to the correct pot/coil to make this electronic adjustment? Thank you in advance!

One can't just open it up and tweak a coil to get the frequencies lined up with the dial pointer. One needs an FM frequency generator, an o'scope, a distortion meter etc. to align the entire FM band. If it's off by just a tad, move the pointer over until you're happy with where it sits.

OK thank you. Some years ago I had a Sansui TU-717 and if I recall, on that FM tuner one could tweak a coil to make the tuned freq line up with the dial pointer, so I thought it could be done on Kenwood too. So I have a follow up question, if I have a Tech perform an FM tuner alignment, is that what causes the frequency to line up with the pointer, or not related?

How far is it off? Is it off in the same direction at each end of the scale? If it's the same at both ends then the pointer could be moved to the correct spot. Then it should be correct at all spots on the dial.

Well this was a little weird...like I said I just picked up the receiver today...and I hadn't run the tuning dial from one end to the other until now....when I ran it to the far right it was pretty darn accurate, and when I ran it back to the left side of the tuning dial/scale...the area where it had been off....now it looks pretty darn close as well. I haven't been drinkin' and that's how it went. So right now, the station we listen to the most, 89.9, is lined up pretty good with the actual dial needle/indicator.
