Kenwood KR8010 Just broke selector knob off! Can I find part? Can I repair?

Oh, I have really done it now! I live in Sacramento Ca. and found this gorgeous KR 8010 for sale and was lucky enough to buy for $220. I've never owned a Kenwood before but I knew It was gonna be the monster receiver I had always hoped to find. When I got it home and tried it I realized this was like no other stereo I had ever owned. So warm and smooth! And the power!
But then I decided to clean the thing a little bit because the knobs were popping a bit or making that scratchy sound. so I used some CRC for sensitive electronics and sprayed it on the pots inside and out then went and turned them to work it in,,, Well, that's where the trouble began because as I turned the selector knob had seized up on me after a couple turns! I'm like What the....!?! I then did what any irrational panicked man would do and thats grab some channel locks! and just like that...there goes half the knob post for the selector...and one more time...there goes the rest of the post!
So It is now on permanent phono1! As if the regular aux channel did not already have enough power!
I figured who better to go to than you folks! Ive learned whatever Ive ever needed to know about anything stereo related before here so why not just take it to a whole nother level!
HELP!! What have I done! oh my dear Kenwood! Ive broke my babies arm off!! Im so sorry!
Anyhow... where can I ...or can I even find this part and what will...should it cost?!
Can I possibly do this job? I can solder...and stuff.

A major job to replace that switch, everything connects there. But is it possible,heck someone put it in there and wired it up. Find a donor from the bay or somewhere and then put the effing channel locks far away, they don't belong in Audio Repair Tool Kits, but I do have a 6" pair in the drawer just in case.

Wow, that's a pretty bad screw up there! Well, you learned the hard way that crc stuff eats plastic. Hopefully somebody will know which, if any models share that selector switch. It doesn't look like it will be an easy repair.

Is the shaft seized due to an issue in the bushing, or is it seized due to some issue with the plastic of the switch? If it is seized due to the bushing becoming galled (due to no lubrication), you may be able to dismantle the switch and replace only the shaft assembly or something. If you can get the original shaft assembly to turn freely again, it can likely be repaired, although it is a tedious job. I am attaching a set of photos that show how I repaired a Marantz function switch shaft that had both ears broken off.

I used the shaft from a pot, that had a shank smaller than the switch shaft. I drilled the switch shaft so the pot shaft could be slid inside, then I glued it in using Gel CA glue. I have done this repair several times. The first time was difficult, but later ones went relatively quickly. The hardest part is getting the hole in the exact center of the shaft, and getting it to go in perfectly straight.
