Kenwood KR9600 lost sound, but powers up

Jamming nicely when sound just abruptly stopped. Lights were still on.
Turned down volume, turned off, let sit a while and checked connections and such, cycled switches a bunch of times thinking possible loss of contact on anything. Turned back on and lights came on but still no sound. VU meters are not moving.
I did notice that there is not the delayed click when power is turned on as previously heard?
Took top cover off just to look at any obvious possible fuses, but all seems ok?
I appreciate any positive direction.

The speaker protection relay is staying open because something is wrong with the amp, typically a bad output or something giving you excess center voltage.

It needs repair.

To get any further answers you need to have a multimeter and ability/confidence to open it up and measure voltages, or find a repair person. Hopefully the TA-200W IC isn't blown!
 
Well, if it turns out it's needed, someone on the bay has them for one sixty... with fifty seven sold. Looks like a newly created version, not the original. Must diagnose the issue first.

Indeed, it seems like a TW-200+ IC has bit the dust. Originals are NLA, but replacement modules are available. Since they are not original, the will alter the sound. And they are a little pricey. But I’ve heard good things about out them, and you do get your wonderful receiver back.
 
It's worth checking the coil resistance on the protection relays. There are two, one for either channel, with their coils in series. If one goes open, neither will close. While you are in the area, check pin 2 and 7 on the relay board for large DC voltage. If there is more than a few or a few 10s of millivolts on either, the amp section will require further investigation. If it's in the 10s of volts range, you have probably lost one of the TA-200 power packs.
 
Most likely your output power pack blew. Had same thing happen in mine last week. You can pull the fuses in the rectifier board and see if relay clicks with only 1 channels fuses in place.
I replaced the blown power pack (33v dc in output) with below one. Plug and play (no affiliations)
