Kenwood KT-4007 Stereo Indicator Lamp?

Would a dead Stereo Indicator lamp on a KT-4007 be a cause for the tuner not being able to produce stereo?
FM stereo stations can be tuned in, but mono only, no stereo.

I think some tuners will not produce stereo if the lamp is burnt out, not sure if the KT-4007 is one of them.

That unit uses a sn76115n, IC based. Looks like it drives the lamp too. Doubtful it needs a lamp to function.

Concur.. Having a hard time thinking of a tuner that the indicator keeps it from work in stereo.
