Hello,
I'm totally confused. In total I have three decks here: 2 Kenwood KX-1030 and one KW-1003.
All of them are identical beside the front panel.
I'm looking for a working machine since so many years for my father. Now he will celebrate his 80. birthday in 3 months and I want to give him a Kenwood KX-1030 like he had for so many years.
Here's the deal: There is the output level pot on the front and when I use it I can see different behaviors. With my KX-1030 I can see no effect - or I can't hear it. When I use the pot on my KX-1003 I can control the loudness to zero.
So I have no idea what's going on. I tried to find an expert here in Germany but one told me I have to wait at least two years, the other one don't want to repair tape decks. So I have to start a DIY-project but I just worked on turntables the last 15 years.
Since this is a worldwide forum I hope to get some input from here.
First: The output level is controlling the "overall" loudness and should turn the level to zero? That's what I understand from the manual - if you work with headphones for example.
Second: Any hints/tips what I have to do?
