Kenwood KX-1030....belts?

Might be getting a KX-1030 even though I do not listen to cassettes that often, but I am told that while it plays okay, the gears/wheels slip when FF or REW is used and that it will need new belts.

While I am mechanically inclined, I have never worked on a cassette deck before. Where would I get belts? Are they something I could repair myself?

Is there a better model I should look for to go with my 7100 amp (purchased from AKer thedelihaus) and 7500 tuner?
Perhaps a KX-910 or KX-830?

It'll be fine for casual listening. Have not had to go into my Kenny yet, so can't say how tough. Doing belts and idlers is a pain (I have big hands), but certainly not rocket science or even rocket mechanics. Work on clean surface (I like a big old soft bath towel (white)) so I can see all the little bits that come off and go back on. Plus the small pieces don't bounce away to be lost forever. It's mostly screws and clips - a little cleaning, maybe some light machine oil (use very sparingly) and you're good to go. Try a google for Vintage Electronics - Cassette Belts.
