Kenwood KX-830 right side out

I picked up a pretty nice KX-830 cassette deck with some other equipment a while back. I just replaced the belts and it sounds great...on the left side. Not getting anything out on the right and the right output meter is not showing any action. As anyone ever addressed this issue on a Kenwood or something similar?

Not familiar with model, most cassette decks have dual switches to switch between record and play. Get some deoxit cleaner and clean these switches. if it's a mechanical link to switch it will operate when pressing the record button. they are usually several inches long.

Just picked out a KX 830 and I'm having the same problem.

I fixed my kx-630 by cleaning these switches. Look for a sliding bar on the bottom of the chassis, spray some cleaner in the openings and work the rec button on and off. This should activate the slider and move the switch contacts back n forth. Give the output pot a small squirt while it's opened up too.

I was able to fix a dropped channel in my kenwood by cleaning the switches too.

If cleaning switches, sliders and pots doesnt do the trick which indeed often solves issues like yours indeed; Kenwood KX 530 520 620 630 830 and 1030's have notoriously badly made and designed cheap capitors in all of the decks segments / circuitly, including power, motor / drive, input, output boards. Same for Pioneer 700 750 800 850 and 950 and 1000 and 1250. Dont ask me why!
