Kenwood L-05M Remote Operation

Hi,
I'm wondering how the remote function of the L-0xM line operates. I know the L-07C controls the power on function for the L-0xM line, but I do not have a L-07C to test.

Is the remote on the L-0xM line a simple grounding of the circuit/replay that energizes the power relay or is it a voltage driven latching?

I've read opinions both ways and wondered if someone more knowledgeable than myself can help me.

Thanks.

The remote power function of the L-05M is a simple contact closure.

You see that S3 (which is the back panel remote/manual switch) simply bridges the remote jacks to turn the unit on/off locally.

In remote mode all you need is a contact closure to control the power.

I have a simple toggle switch to 'remote' control my 07m amps. I can get a pic if needed.

I'd think the 05m amps are similar (but haven't looked).

mrk229 might have answered your question.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. It definitely helps.

To verify, a simple SPST toggle switch is all that’s needed. Toggle it on while listening and toggle it off when done.

That’s great.

my 07m amps have two trigger input jacks.

I run a trigger cable to both amps.
Then I run another trigger cable from one amp to the switch. I have the switch mounted in my cabinet.

turn on preamp
push switch
enjoy the music
