Kenwood LS-403a

I have these speakers on the way to pair with my KR-7400 and Technics SL-1600. I'm only about a month into putting my system together and collecting vinyl. I may be overpaying but the market is ridiculous these days. I only see it getting worse (ie; prices increasing, less chance at thrift store or garage sale finds, etc...) I grew up in the 70's and never had a "real" system. So here I am trying to make up for it.

This is my first post but I have been following. I know Big Tuna and others have a fondness for the LS-400 series. That's partially the reason I chose them. So if you're out there please chime in and let me know how I'm doing. Thank you!

Not familiar with your speakers, but if you like 'em, that's what counts. Due to their age, the crossovers are probably due to a re-cap. I am a former owner of the SL-1600 and the KR-7400. The Kenwood receiver has adequate power for your speakers and enough inputs. Due to its age, carefully inspect its innards for faulty capacitors and a follow up with a good cleaning if necessary.

When I got my Technics SL-1600 there were some problems with the tonearm tracking. My technician cleaned the old grease from the mechanism and fixed the tonearm issues. From then on the turntable operated perfectly. Nice deck.

In summary, you've made good choices if they're operating properly.
