Kenwood Model Nine G

Have you heard of an early version of the Eleven G that featured knobs instead of sliders ?

Not that I can think of. Do you have any pics or any other identifying info that could help us out? Could be a case of a wrong ID.

G had knobs GX sliders in the Eleven line. Never seen a Nine with sliders though.

I haven't found any G's or GX's with knobs in the Eleven/11/11000 line - only the Nine/9/9000 G's and GX's. Do you have a pic DW? Maybe it's what SN is looking at.

It was a case of wrong ID.
It was a model Eleven II. Still picked it up.

Cant get the timer to settle down though.

I have two of the model Eleven III's. I love them, really love them. THe tuners are incredibly good. The phono stage sounds awesome to me.
I drive a pair of wharfedale w70c's with one unit and and a technics TT. You would swear the performers are right in front of you.


The timers re the weak link on these units, but I have a simple and excellent fix for them. These are by far my favorite vintage receiver, and I have owned the SX1250 in comparison. Just my $0.02 worth

My latest Model Eleven G has sliders (EQ. or as Kenny calls it M.A.T.). As for fixing the timer the KR-10000III I think I'm gonna do the brass tube thingy. I had already got inside and turnned the timer to the reset position. I just don't like the dial spinning around to the bass thumppin'. Have not got to that fixing that yet. My buddy is talking about selling his Hitachi SR-2004 so I've been busy trying to hammer a deal out for it. I know it is bad ass!!! I've know it since new when it was bought as a sound sytem for the local roller skating rink of the time. When it shut down in the late 80's it was given to my buddy. Hopefully it will be mine next!! I'm currently contacting dgwojo about the lamps (thanks for the tip) I see nothing on his web page under Kenny stuff but that bare wire yamaha one sure looks like my Kenny bulb. Hope they are as I have to keep raping the others for bulbs. The parts KR-9000 is bulbless as is the fubar Nine GX, and one of the Nines is down to two lol!!
No one has a manual for the GX models?? I really wanna fix it, it arrived with the speaker relay gone and speaker wire jumped in place of it. One channel worked but evey time I powered it up it about poofed my speakers. I replaced the relay then had no channels?? I put it up after that and have not touched it except to rape the lamps. Please some help with finding out what the difference inside is between the G and the GX. Happy JAMMIN'!!

I think its call M.A.C for Multiple Acoustic Compensator and not M.A.T., but from being around them (the G and GX) as I bought both a year apart around 79' and 80' I remember them being the same except for that M.A.C. component. It would not surprise me in the least if it was the same as far as relays, power boards and ect. Good luck.
