Kenwood receiver KR-A47 tone control issues

Hello everyone. I have a Kenwood KR-47 receiver with an odd combination of tone control symptoms. Other than those, it operates fine. Here goes.

There are 4 tone controls, 1 Lower Bass, 1 Mid/Upper Bass, 1 Lower/Mid Treble, and 1 Upper Treble. The symptoms are:

No Lower/Mid Treble control effect on the Right Channel (does work for the Left Channel)
No Lower Bass control effect on the Right Channel (does work for the Left Channel)
No Mid/Upper Bass control effect on the Left Channel (does work for the Right Channel)
No Upper Treble control effect on the Left Channel (does work for the Right Channel)

Each pot is a single wiper type rather than double like those in most receivers. This must be due to digital control I imagine.

Anyone have an idea what's going on with this thing?

Are you sure? I see Treble and Bass controls for the left side, and separate Treble and bass controls for the right side. That makes 4.

Those are just separate bass & treble controls for the left & right channels. It is a bit different but it does give some versatility to dialing in each speaker to what you want.

Even though your analogy may be a bit off, it seems that they are working.

You gentlemen are correct. I had the wrong idea of how this is set up. Closer inspection shows pretty small L and R for those controls. I stand corrected. Thank you for your response.
