Kenwood Super Eleven

Have a possible opportunity to buy a Super Eleven. Curious on peoples opinion as to what a good price point would be to purchase this receiver to add to my collection. I see one on ebay for 2,000 right now and others that have sold below that. It seems to be in good condition but i am not sure of the exact condition yet as the owner has it wrapped up in storage. Just bought some nice Fisher gear off him that is in excellent shape. Any additional input is also appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

I wouldn't go off of eBay prices if it's a local sale, with a seller you've already dealt with before. The price should be more in line with what the market in your area would dictate. FWIW, a year ago I sold a Model 10000 lll, very similar Kenwood for 550 with the original box, even the timer was working. A month ago I sold a working 165wpc Technics SA-5760 for $700 and just prior had an out-of-state buyer inquiring about shipping. If it's the model you want, and its pristine go for it, though I definitely wouldn't pay more than 1k though.

Yeah, most actual sales seem to be under $1k. Condition is everything, most electronics can be fixed, but cosmetic damage is forever.
