Kenwood/Trio/Lafayette models?

A recent post on a Trio receiver got me wondering. I played with a couple Lafayette/Trio amps & tuners, and I have a Kenwood KW-44 receiver whose tuner section is pretty good. I was thinking that it might be interesteing to ket a "better" model to play with if I can figure out what that is. Is there a website that shows the various models through the years? I would think Kenwood would be the most likely. I would also like to find a cross-reference between the various model numbes of each brand. Googlel was not hepful. I never found a schematic for my KW-44 but several folks pointed at similar Trio models & the KW-33 one. I was thinking that it might be interesteing to ket a "better" model to play with if I can figure out what that is. Thanks,

Olson AM 240 was also sold under Lafayette and a few other brands.

Some of the finest output transformers I've ever heard. All 12AX7 triode front end/Phono pre, 4 X 6BQ5.

Lots of them around.

It would be helpful if you define your interpretation of "better" model. That might vary for each person. Better sensitivity, better selectivity, solid-state or tube, more power, cosmetic look may all have an impact on "better".

The majority of our Lafayette/Trio receiver, tuner, amplifier tube models are all at least 50+ years old and probably would require extensive replacement of parts to bring the model up to its original specs.

One of the best AM/FM Stereo tuners that Lafayette offered was the solid-state LT-425. This tuner design was also used in the Lafayette receiver series: LR-500 series, LR-1000 series, LR-1500 series.

I was speaking primarily of the tube models (this is the Tube Forum). I guess by better I would say more power (the 6BM8's in my KW-44 are only about 8 watts/channel) and more extended/firmer bass. And less distortion is always good. I'm in an FM hole so more sensitivity would be good but honestly the current unit is fine for the little FM listening I do. As mentioned, I have worked on some of these before so I have an idea of what they generically need, although there are always surprises.
